After debuting their November playlist with us last month, Sovereign Trax are back with their latest mix of Indigenous and Aboriginal hip-hop and cross-over cuts coming out of occupied “Australia”. For this #MixtapeMonday, get down with the head-knocking sounds of SovTrax.
This latest playlist features some of the maddest Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander talent on the scene like the unique sound of Paul Gorrie. Paul is a 22-year-old Kurnai man currently holdin up in Northside Melbourne, Brunswick. His production is so organic it’s like drinking a kale smoothie. Word is this brother might drop his first solo mixtape next year and we can’t wait.
Another talented brother on the December mix is Elijah the Profit, born and bred in Cairns and reppin the Torres Straits, Badu and Hammond Islands. Elijah is part of the Red Eye Balaz crew. R.E.D is strictly Hip-Hop from Australia not “Australian Hip-Hop”.
One of the Sov Trax anthems picked for xmas break is from MC Bunz ft. Provocalz, these two Koori brotherz settle the score on that Merry Grinchmas Cypher from the 2013 Merry Ginchmas Mixtape.
